On the evening of February 13, Wu Dajing, a well-known skater from Jilin province, failed to make it to the final of Beijing Winter Olympics in 500m track speed skating, his most promising event. He ended up as the first in the Group B. After the match, Wu Dajing waved to the audience. As the music came to an end and followed by audiences’ applause, Yuzuru Hanyu still kept his head and hands raised in the center of the ice. Five seconds later, he turned to bowl all around, with seemingly tears in his eyes and his iconic smile on his face.

On the morning of February 10, Yuzuru Hanyu completed the Men’s Singles Free Skating competition at the Beijing Winter Olympics while finished his third and possibly the last Olympics with a fourth place. He forced back his tears in the interview, ” I can’t work harder than this. It might be an unrewarded effort, but I went all out to fight.”

German speed skater Claudia Perchstein is the oldest athlete at the Beijing Winter Olympics. She was born on February 22, 1972, and will be 50 years old in a few days. She is also the idol of Chinese “Veteran” Fan Kexin.
德国速滑选手克劳迪娅·佩希施泰因是北京冬奥会上年龄最大的选手。她出生于1972年2月22日，还有几天就满50岁了，也是“老将”范可新的偶像。
Pechstein has a brilliant career. Her first show on Winter Olympics was in Albertville, 1992, and it is now his eighth Winter Olympics trip. In such an abiding Winter Olympic career, she won 9 Olympic medals, including 5 golds.
